  It means that a person is very stingy with their money and will never buy something for somebody else.

Example – It is Tony’s turn to go and buy beer but he wouldn’t shout if a shark bit him!

• Jump the shark
  To jump the shark means to reach a point where something stops becoming more popular or starts to decrease in quality (usually of television shows)
