В Україні кукурудзу традиційно починають збирати у вересні, але завдяки новим сортам, скуштувати її можна вже у липні-серпні. З кукурудзи готують різноманітні страви, такі як сальса, салат, кукурудзяні млинці та навіть суп. В Україні вирощується багато кукурудзи, більша частка якої йде на експорт.
