6 січня. Водохреща в Україні

Головна подія Водохреща пов'язана з обрядом освячення води. В цей день, віряни збираються біля водойм – річок, озер, чи водосховищ. Священик виконує освячення води, а потім віряни занурюються в холодну воду. У багатьох регіонах України також існує традиція пірнати в ополонку, щоб випробувати свою витривалість та отримати благословення на майбутній рік.

Слово дня: “СВЯТКИ” -  святкова пора від різдва до водохрещів (у православних).

У перші дні святок прийнято було провідувати родичів.
