Всесвітній день тварин бере свій початок у 1925 році, коли Генріх Циммерман організував перше святкування в Берліні. Дата 4 жовтня також відома як день святого Франциска Ассізького, покровителя тварин. Тварини не можуть розмовляти звичайним способом, яким люди спілкуються між собою.
