Henry VIII was one of the most famous kings in English history.

He ruled England from 1509 to 1547 and belonged to the Tudor family.

He is especially famous for having six wives and for changing the relationship between England and the Catholic Church.

During his reign, England broke away from the authority of the Pope, and Henry became the head of the Church of England.

The Tudor period was a time of important political, religious and social changes that influenced the country for many years.

The word of the day:  reign /reɪn/

Meaning: the time when a king or queen rules a country.

Example: King Henry VIII had a long reign of 38 years.
