Independence Day of Ukraine

Independence Day of Ukraine

August: Ukraine

On August 24, 1991, Ukraine made a historic decision to become an independent country.

Celebrating 35 years of independence is a very important milestone for all Ukrainians.

Over the years, the nation has shown that freedom is a real, daily choice made by its people.

This special anniversary is a great opportunity to honor earlier generations who dreamed of an independent state, remember the difficulties the country has faced, and build a peaceful, European future.

The word of the day:  freedom and responsibility /ˈfriːdəm ənd rɪˌspɒnsəˈbɪləti/

Meaning: the idea that being free means having the right to make your own choices, but also being responsible for the results of those choices.

Example: Independence gives a country freedom and responsibility to make its own decisions and build its future.
