World Refugee Day

June: Stories That Unite Us

World Refugee Day honors refugees around the world. Refugees are people who must leave their homes because of war, conflict, or danger. This day raises awareness about their struggles and the need for support and understanding. It also celebrates their strength and courage as they build new lives in different countries. World Refugee Day reminds us of the importance of kindness, human rights, and global cooperation.

The word of the day:  flee (verb) /fliː /

Meaning: to escape by running away, especially because of danger or fear.

Example: Thousands of refugees had to flee across the border.
