International Everest Day

International Everest Day

May: Learning How to Learn

International Everest Day is celebrated to remember the first successful climb of Mount Everest in 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay. Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world and is located in the Himalayas. This day celebrates courage, teamwork, and human determination. It also raises awareness about environmental problems in mountain regions. Many people are inspired by Everest to explore nature and challenge themselves.

The word of the day:  summit (noun)/ˈsʌmɪt/

Meaning: the highest point of a hill or mountain.

Example: Reaching the summit was a moment of great triumph for the team.
