International Nurses Day

May: Learning How to Learn

International Nurses Day celebrates the birthday of Florence Nightingale. She became famous during the Crimean War, where she improved hospital conditions and helped save many lives. This day reminds us how nurses have always played a key role in society, especially during wars, pandemics, and emergencies. Today, nurses are respected professionals who care for patients, support families, and work long hours in hospitals and clinics. International Nurses Day is a time to thank them and understand how important their work is for public health around the world.

The word of the day:  healthcare (noun)/ˈhelθ.keə/

Meaning: a set of services provided by doctors, nurses, and hospitals to keep people healthy

Example: The government wants to improve healthcare for elderly people.
