Darwin & Evolution Thinking Day

April: Nature, Science & Wonder

Charles Darwin (February 12, 1809 - April 19, 1882) was a scientist who developed the theory of evolution by natural selection. His famous book, On the Origin of Species, changed how people understand life on Earth. Darwin’s ideas showed that species change over time and adapt to their environment. His work influenced biology, science, and even culture, and it is still important today.

The word of the day:  common ancestor (noun phrase) /ˈkɒmən ˈænsɛstər/

Meaning: a hypothetical organism from which two or more different species evolved.

Example: According to Darwin's theory, all life shares a common ancestor.
