Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine

Day of the National Anthem of Ukraine

March: Change & Responsibility

The National Anthem of Ukraine is one of the most important symbols of Ukrainian identity and resilience. The lyrics were written in 1862 by P. Chubynsky, and the music was composed by M. Verbytsky. The song became popular as a patriotic hymn expressing hope, freedom, the desire for independence. During different historical periods, especially under Soviet rule, the anthem was banned, but it continued to live in the hearts of the people. After Ukraine became independent in 1991, it was officially adopted as the national anthem. Today, it represents courage, unity, and the spirit of the Ukrainian nation.

The word of the day:  resilience (noun) /rɪˈzɪliəns/

Meaning: ability to stay strong and positive when you have problems or difficult situations.

Example: Her resilience helped her study even when life was very hard.
