World Energy Efficiency Day

World Energy Efficiency Day

March: Change & Responsibility

World Energy Efficiency Day is celebrated to remind people about the importance of saving energy and protecting the planet. The idea of using energy wisely became especially important during the energy crises of the 1970s, when many countries realized that natural resources are limited. Organizations such as the International Energy Agency promote energy efficiency to reduce pollution and fight climate change. People are learning to use renewable energy, recycle, and save electricity at home.

The word of the day:  power outage (noun)/ˈpaʊə ˌaʊtɪdʒ/

Meaning: a time when the electricity stops working in a building or area.

Example: During the power outage, we used candles and couldn’t watch TV.
