Polar bears are large animals that live in the Arctic, mostly on sea ice and near the sea. They hunt for seals, which are their main food, and travel across their frozen habitat. Even though they may look slow on land, they are excellent swimmers and powerful hunters. Today, polar bears are one of the most well-known Arctic animals and remind people about the importance of protecting nature and wildlife. Many people are fascinated by polar bears in documentaries, zoos, and wildlife programs because they are impressive and unique creatures.

The word of the day:  fur (noun) /fɜː /

Meaning: the soft hair that covers the body of some animals.

Example: The polar bear has thick fur.
