Jules Verne’s Birthday

Jules Verne’s Birthday

February: Voices & Identity

Jules Verne (8 February 1828 – 24 March 1905) was a famous French writer who lived during a time of great scientific discovery and technological change. Fascinated by new inventions and travel, he wrote adventure novels such as Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Around the World in Eighty Days, which encouraged readers to imagine the future and explore the unknown. Jules Verne is often called the "Father of Science Fiction" because many of the technologies he imagined, like submarines and space travel, eventually became real.
